Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026. This policy describes what Front Star Digital Innovations actually does on this website. It is not a claim of ISO certification or of a registered data-protection officer.

1. Who we are

Front Star Digital Innovations (also referred to on this site as Front Star Digital) is an international technology firm based in Uganda. Postal address: P.O.BOX 202317 Kampala, Uganda. Email: support@frontstardigital.com. Phone: +256 779 971 024.

For personal data collected through this website, the client portal, checkout, appointments, job applications and related forms, we decide why and how that data is processed. For systems we build or host for a client under a written statement of work, that client is typically the controller and we process data only as the contract allows. See the data protection page for technical controls.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers frontstardigital.com and the public pages, login, client portal, admin console (for staff), shopping cart, checkout, service and product request forms, appointment booking, career applications, live chat on this site, and emails we send about those requests.

It does not replace a signed contract. If a statement of work, hosting agreement or data-processing clause says something different for a named project, that document governs that project.

3. Personal data we collect

You give us

• Name, email, phone and organisation when you use Contact, service requests, product questions, appointments or registration.
• Account email and a password you choose. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, not as readable text.
• Checkout details needed to place an order: billing name, email, phone, delivery address and zone when the order includes a physical item.
• Messages, briefs, package choices and file names you attach to a ticket or application. Resumes uploaded through Careers are stored off public download.
• Chat questions typed into the on-site assistant. That widget answers from a short local script. It is not a third-party LLM unless we later say so on this page.

• Cart contents stored for this browser so you can check out later.
• Login session data so you stay signed in while you use the portal.
• Language preference when you use the on-page translator.
• Cookie-consent choice (accept all, or essential only), kept in this browser.
• Technical logs we need to run the site: time of a request, form rate-limit counters, and security events such as failed logins.

We do not collect as card data

Payment card numbers and mobile-money secrets are entered on DPO’s hosted checkout when those keys are live. We store order references, amounts, currency and payment status. We do not store full card PAN on this server.

4. Why we use it

• To reply to a request, quote, appointment or application you sent.
• To create and run a client account: tickets, files, invoices, orders and appointments.
• To fulfil a product order, including delivery in Uganda when a physical item and a delivery zone apply.
• To send transactional mail: request received, email verification, password reset, order or payment notices. We do not sell your address to a marketing list.
• To keep the site usable and reasonably secure: CSRF tokens, rate limits, honeypots, session handling and login lockout.
• To measure traffic only if you accept optional analytics in the cookie notice and a Google Analytics ID is configured in admin.

Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 is the primary law we have in view for this site. If you are outside Uganda, your local rules may also apply. We process this site’s data from Uganda. We do not claim EU adequacy or a transfer mechanism we have not put in writing for a named contract.

5. Cookies and similar storage

Essential cookies and local storage keep the cart, login session, language widget and your cookie choice working. The banner on first visit lets you accept optional analytics or keep essentials only. Analytics scripts load only after “Accept”, and only if an ID is set.

The language widget is provided by Google Translate. If you use it, Google’s terms and privacy notice apply to that widget. Font Awesome and Google Fonts are loaded from their CDNs so pages can render icons and Montserrat. Those providers may see that your browser requested the files.

You can delete cookies in your browser. That will empty a guest cart and may sign you out.

6. Payments

Checkout amounts can be shown in UGX or USD using the rate set in admin at the time you pay. When DPO company token and service type are configured, you are sent to DPO to pay. DPO’s terms apply to that payment. If keys are not configured, the order can still be saved and payment completed later from your orders. We do not take card details over email as a normal process.

7. Who we share data with

• DPO, to process a payment you start on checkout.
• Email delivery for notices we send you or the operations desk about a form you submitted.
• Google, only for Translate and, if you accepted analytics, Google Analytics.
• Staff who need the record to do the job: support, delivery, billing. Access to admin is role-based.
• A court, regulator or lawful request if we are required to disclose.

We do not sell personal data. Hosting and domain work for a client stays under that client’s contract.

8. How long we keep it

Contact and request records stay as long as we need them to complete the work and keep a business record of what was asked. Account data stays while the account is open, then as long as invoices, orders or legal duties require. Cart data in the browser lasts until you clear it or it expires. Application files are kept for recruitment of the role you applied to, then removed when they are no longer needed. We do not publish a fake “auto-delete in 30 days” promise for every table.

9. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold on you from this website, to correct it, or to close a client account you no longer use. Use the client portal where you already have an account, or email support@frontstardigital.com. We may need to confirm it is you before we change or delete a record that still sits on an unpaid invoice or an active project.

You can withdraw cookie consent by clearing this site’s cookies and choosing again on the next visit. You can object to optional analytics by choosing “Essential only”.

Complaints about personal data in Uganda can be raised with us first. You may also have a right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda. We will not pretend that office has already audited this website.

10. Children

This site is built for organisations and adults buying services or products. We do not knowingly collect data from children as a product offering. If you believe we have a child’s data, email us and we will delete it where the law allows.

11. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how we use data already collected, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes should also be visible from the same footer link.
